I am not yet giving the secret up on which Le Mans C-Type from 1951 is the survivor we found, and is the highlight of our coming edition, but if you are lucky enough to be in Kent this weekend you can see the body.
We hope one day the correct chassis and body are reunited, but the proud and enthusiastic owner of the body is planning (fitted to a correct replica chassis) to take it to a steam engine rally to be held this weekend at New Romney – where the car spent many years owned by Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway founder Captain Jack Howey.
The body is perfectly preserved – wearing its history well.
So if you are anywhere near the rally be sure to drop in and discover THE CAR and its history before it is revealed.
