IT’S OUR NEW EDITION #203 …
Covid is still giving us problems still because we have had to find a new printer outside of Victoria which is in lockdown again. However, we are up and away now.

Highlights of the next edition are many and very significant.
THE GENUINE HODGSON RACING MK2 IS BACK AFTER 55 YEARS

Sydney car dealer Ron Hodgson was a colourful character, who in 1960 bought a brand new Mk2 in Sydney and turned it into his next Jaguar racer.
He finished third in two Australian Touring Car Championships, but the car disappeared from sight 55 years ago.
Now it has been fantastically restored with original trim by the late Paul Cotter and the Bowden team on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
The legendary ‘KB’ Kevin Bartlett worked on it when it was new, and has been part of the team which put it back together.

THE FIRST XK120 EVER – WHAT HAPPENED TO IT REALLY?

Many people have had different theories about the fate of the 1948 London Motor Show XK120 – chassis #1.
We tell its true life story, and the fact that it existed for many more years than anyone thought.

THE STILL-BORN XK FOUR CYLINDER ENGINE – A STORY NEVER TOLD

Richard Hassan’s father Walter co-designed and developed the XK Jaguar engine – both six and four cylinder versions. He tells the true complex story and tells us more than has been known before.

There is a deep Jaguar connection.
CLARK GABLE’S SECOND XK120 AND ITS SIGNIFICANT HARD TOP
Clark Gable loved his XK120s, but his third one had a removable hardtop. We found the car, and the story of its 1952 roof brings in the Munsters, Knight Rider and Batmobile!
XJ13 COMES TO AUSTRALIA FOR THE GRAND PRIX

The first time XJ13 ever left England was when it was flown to Australia in 1987 to partake in the Australian Grand Prix festivities. George Mason was its minder, but local Steve Weeks had the job of maintaining and even repairing the car. He gave it new door handles, and his full story is fascinating.

XKC037 C-TYPE – EX-WORKS WITH THE FULL STORY TOLD FOR THE FIRST TIME

This C-Type put Frank Gardner on the road to international success, and Ian Cummins performed his first major restoration on this car which he bought in 1969.
But before that it was a 1953 works reserve car for Le Mans, had been rolled by Stirling Moss at Silverstone, owned by the Kenyan Coca Cola Bottler, raced at Dundrod and Reims before coming to Australia though Peter Whitehead.
