It has been debated for decades whether the works Knobbly Lister Jaguar VPP9 was rebuilt following the horrible fatal crash of Archie Scott Brown at Spa in 1958.
Many highly esteemed authorities including Doug Nye, a man we respect enormously, have said no, but I have studied the subject for many decades and know the Costin bodied Lister Jaguar VPP9 very very well.

It was in Australia from 1962 until about a decade ago when Brisbane racer Don Thallon sold the car in the UK. It has changed hands a few times since and been crashed.
However, I don’t think anyone has documented the continuous history of this particular car as closely, or found people involved with the car – and fake Listers too.
In edition #186 we will publish what I think is a very compelling case to show the ex-Thallon car is the car Archie was driving at Spa and back that up with high quality photographs.
We also show exactly why the car immediately burst into a fireball when it slid off the road exactly where the modern Spa pits are today, and then struck a stone marker erected at the spot where Richard Seaman died in 1939 driving a Mercedes-Benz W154. He was just 26.
Maybe we can proved a piece of history Brian Lister himself didn’t want to discuss?
