When we founded this magazine in November 1984 I thought it had a life of perhaps 20 editions before we started to run out of good features.
Thankfully, I was very wrong. The one we are working on now is edition #204 and I am compiling what is one of the most significant and fascinating stories we have ever published.
Thanks to Clive Beecham in London, and owner of the ex-factory and Ecurie Ecosse Long Nose D-Type XKD603, we have been introduced to 98 year old Hugh Langrishe.

Hugh was Ron Flockhart’s best friend and business partner, and retains a treasure trove of memories and images of his Scottish mate. He was timekeeper for Ecurie Ecosse when it won Le Mans in 1957 and took first and second places
He is sharing those for the first time with us, and both Ron and Hugh had ties to Australia too. Of course, Ron was killed there unfortunately, but Hugh was posted to Australia in 1944 for 12 months as part of his role with the Royal Navy in WW2.

I am very excited, and can’t wait to put it all down for our readers and also posterity in Jaguar Magazine #204.
After all these years we are still finding new Jaguar history to record and enjoy – and it is truly significant international history in both motor racing terms and aviation.
