To the best of my knowledge, this car was only seen once, and was modified in 1972 for the Royal Tour of Mauritius.
People have called it a Daimler, but it was a 2.8 litre XJ6 with roof removed and a fold down soft top.
Has anyone seen or heard of this rather special, and certainly unique, Jaguar since that Tour?

Perhaps it is still on Mauritius?
In March 1972, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II visited Mauritius and this was one big event for the country. This event gathered so many Mauritians and was announced 6 months before hand. A living souvenir for many to see the Queen visiting the country and people gathered in mass at different regions of the country announcing the Queen’s tour.

She was accompanied, by Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, the Prime Minister of the time and considered as the ‘Father of the Nation’, who brought Independance to the country. Sir Seewoosaguar Ramgoolam was born in September 1900 and passed away in December 1985 at the age of 85 years.
