It is time again in Australia for the massive Phillip Island historic race meeting, a week before the first round of the 2017 F1 season begins in Melbourne.
Cars have arrived from all over the world, but in Melbourne, and barely a spit from the Albert Part circuit, Mike Roddy is preparing his amazingly original and pristine Bathurst winning TWR XJ-S for action.
The car doesn’t come out all that often, but is painstakingly prepared and maintained by Mike. It remains totally original from the last time it was raced by TWR (New Zealand 1987), right down to the paint – inside and out!
None of the three remaining 1984-built TWR XJ-S remain as original as this one – and our research proved that it is the only one of those cars to run at ALL of the 17 TWR XJ-S races.
Yes, it was in action at every single meeting those cars were entered in. The next closest car is 11 races!
We will report on the Phillip Island Jaguar action in our coming edition – of course!
